Members of my family saw some of these ideas seeping into University of Chicago education in the 70s. At the UofC high school, free-form student directed education started to be inflicted on my order sister. John Dewey established the Laboratory High School there. Interesting to hear mention of his relationship to Counts. It also seemed to have an early postmodernist feel to it.
